Doug guides the company as its Next-Generation Data Center Networking products take mindshare and market share in a rapidly growing market. Under his guidance, Big Switch has experienced 40+% average QoQ growth for the last 14 quarters. Since joining the company in late 2013, headcount has more than tripled to support growing market demand for Big Switch’s products. A seasoned general manager with broad networking expertise, Doug was most recently at Juniper Networks where he was SVP & GM of Juniper’s $1B business across Asia Pacific, Japan and Greater China. Before APAC, he served as SVP & GM of Juniper’s Security business unit. Prior to Juniper, Doug held executive positions at Extreme Networks, Sun Microsystems and AT&T. In board roles, he has helped guide early stage companies to success including Altor Networks (acquired by Juniper in 2010) and FireEye (IPO in 2013). Along with Kyle, Doug was named a Finalist for the E&Y Entrepreneur of the Year Northern California, 2017. He holds a BA in History from Colgate University, an MBA from Johns Hopkins University and has completed Executive Education in Leadership at Columbia University.
Kyle has been with Big Switch since inception and has worn many hats as the company has evolved. Prior to Big Switch, Kyle spent most of his career at Cisco, initially as the technical assistant to SVP Mike Volpi and later as a Product Manager in the cellular and wifi business units. He launched three v1.0 products in wireless and security and finished his time there managing a ~$100 million portfolio of Cisco’s WLAN Controllers. In between Cisco and Big Switch Networks, he was VP of Product Management at Joost, a peer-to-peer TV-over-the-Internet company from the founders of Skype. He started his career at eBusiness consulting company Scient, first as a java developer and later engineering manager and co-founder of the wireless practice. He holds a BSE in Electrical Engineering from Princeton, a MS in Computer Science and an MBA from the Stanford Graduate School of Business.
Susheel leverages his more than 20 years of business development and sales experience in the networking and data center industry to build Big Switch's ecosystem of OEM, Channel and Technology partnerships. Most recently, Susheel was the VP of Business Development at Embrane, acquired by Cisco in 2015. Before that, as Director of WW channels at Cisco he was responsible for Cisco's global OEM business development and their Cloud Go To Market partner strategy and programs. Prior to Cisco, Susheel was at Andiamo Systems driving their partnership and business development efforts with all major storage vendors and technology and ISV partners. He has held various roles from systems engineering, sales and strategic alliances in the data center space with Cray Research, Silicon Graphics and Brocade. Susheel holds MBA from the University of Chicago-Booth School of Business, an M.S in mechanical engineering from the University of Illinois at Chicago and a B.S in mechanical engineering from the MS University of Baroda, India.
Prashant leads Product Management, Strategy and Technology Alliances for Big Switch. He joined from Cisco where he was responsible for driving product strategy and management of the Cisco ONE Controller, Nexus 1000V virtual switch, VXLAN-based network virtualization as well as Cisco’s SDN and cloud network services product and go-to-market strategy. He came to Cisco in 2009 through the acquisition of Rohati Systems where he was CEO and co-founder. At Big Switch, he oversees the company’s complete Open SDN Suite, which includes Cloud Fabric, Big Monitoring Fabric and Switch Light, as well as Project Floodlight open source projects, including the Floodlight controller, Indigo and other applications contained with the project. He holds a PhD. in electrical engineering from the University of Pennsylvania.
Mike leads Big Switch Networks' global sales team. A 29-year veteran of network monitoring, security and analytics, Mike was most recently at cybersecurity startup Datiphy as EVP of Sales & Marketing. Prior, Hoffman spent more than six years at Gigamon, from an individual contributor to Vice President of Worldwide Sales. As VP, he grew revenues from $20M to $140M and secured the company's 2013 IPO. Hoffman captured 66 of the Fortune 100 and nurtured Gigamon’s top 25 high-profile customers to reach a $4.4M median install per account. His defensive selling strategy set the stage for what is today measured as a $1B in potential lifetime value from existing customers. Hoffman served 8 years in the U.S. Navy and is a Gulf War Veteran. He holds a BA and an MBA from Saint Mary’s College of California.
Gregg is an enterprise B2B marketing veteran who has worked in multiple data center infrastructure categories, and brings to Big Switch nearly 25 years of deep domain expertise across marketing disciplines. Prior to joining Big Switch, Gregg held tenures at leading Silicon Valley companies, including Siebel Systems, PeopleSoft, and VMware, where he was responsible for scaling its Americas marketing organization from 2005 - 2009, where revenue increased from $100MM to over $1BN. During his time at Virsto, he was instrumental in positioning the company as an early leader in software-defined storage, which led to a successful acquisition by VMware in 2013. At Big Switch, Gregg oversees Big Switch's global marketing organization, which has positioned Big Switch as a Visionary in the Gartner Datacenter Magic Quadrant in 2017, established Big Switch as the leading provider of next-generation datacenter networking solutions, and delivers outbound programs to help fuel the company's growth of over 100% yearly.
Wendell is responsible for the company's Finance and Legal functions and brings considerable strategic and operational experience to support Big Switch Neworks' rapid growth. During his previous role as VP Finance at AppDynamics, Wendell had responsibility for FP&A, Treasury, Investor Relations during a multi-year period of hyper growth for this SaaS leader. Prior to working as a software executive, Wendell spent 15 years on Wall Street, first as a sell-side Equity Research analyst focused on the infrastructure software industry during which time he was involved in IPO and M&A activity worth >$40 BB and was named to Institutional Investor magazine's All-America Equity Research team. Subsequently he was a Principal and Portfolio Manager for an SF-based asset management firm focused on growth-oriented public market technology investments. Having founded two companies, Wendell understands the challenges associated with scaling a business and is excited about applying his entrepreneurial spirit to support Big Switch Networks continued growth.
Joe has more than 25 years of experience helping businesses scale by reducing operating friction and improving customer satisfaction. At Big Switch, he is responsible for Business Operations, HR, IT, and Customer Support. Most recently, he was Vice President of Operations and Customer Escalations at Juniper Networks he managed operations teams spanning all key functions of the Security Business Unit in addition to customer engineering teams responsible for solving the most complex customer cases. Before Juniper, he held leadership and key operational roles at Extreme Networks, Sun Microsystems and AT&T Business Services. Joe has a BA in computer hardware from Wentworth Institute of Technology and a Masters in computer hardware from Northeastern University.
Jeffrey is a seasoned engineering leader who has been instrumental in driving and delivering some of the networking industry's most important innovations. He has held a variety of engineering leadership positions in data center compute infrastructure, switch software, physical switching fabrics and hypervisor virtual switching. With a 15-year career at Cisco, he was most recently Vice President of Engineering in the Data Center Group with responsibilities ranging from Cisco's Unified Computing System (UCS) software to hypervisor switching and I/O technologies such as the Virtual Machine Fabric Extender (VM-FEX) and the Nexus 1000v vSwitch. Earlier in his career, he managed the software development team of the Cisco Catalyst 6500, the most widely used data center switch in the industry, and drove the popular Virtual Switching System (VSS). He was an engineering leader at Nuova Systems, and most recently, he was Vice President at Brocade responsible for software development of Data Center IP Fabric solutions (VCS/VDX).
